Not surprising that Hays currently has 1.8 star rating - I dare this is very generous considering their lack of candidate management and lack of professionalism. Another agency adding to the gamot of 'candidate churners', where you are a number - and at times are scolded by consultants for touching base. Candidates should be aware that it appears Hays are only solely focused on meeting sales targets and churning through the process (with little to no customer service). Be aware that other recruitment agencies are also offered the same government roles as Hays (as they are put to a panel of many agencies - so each agency submits candidates for the same role) - I'm saying this as you should not feel that Hays is any thing special or have exclusivity over clients. And if there is some unique clients, their level of service explains why some other agencies, are taking away Hays' business, day by day. Hot tip - Save your time, better off cutting out recruiters and cold call companies yourself - and you'll get better pay and not have to deal with the loads of brash British working holiday recruiters, who just sign you up (and come in to register) and you never hear from them again - pretty much your candidate profile gets lost in the dark abyss of neglect.

I have applied, emailed and called different Hays offices to ask for assistance in finding a job. They always say "we'll call you" and never do. No one responds to your emails as well. You question whether they're doing their jobs for the sake of working or they should be in another career!! 3 attempts with contacting a consultant and absolutely NO replies. Pathetic.

Does Hays even look at applicants applying on Seek?? The residential construction admin roles I've applied for over 4 weeks have ended up not even being viewed. I have almost 10 years experience & a diploma in construction... Absolute waste of time applying if you see jobs advertised by Hays on Seek.
