Had a disastrous experience here. First they had to final an extension even though I gave them plenty of time which I've never had to do before. Even after that, they took months to finish my return. Second, they made mistakes and expected me to pay to correct it. Third, they're expensive even after their so called discounts. Maybe my preparer, Sherry Olsen wasn't the right person to get after reading all the positive reviews on here. She also could be rude at times too. Also had issues with communication as well as a previous review said with emails. I specifically asked if emails were a good way to communicate and often didn’t receive a reply. Never again!

Annette is a friendly and detail oriented person. She however did not respond to an email and phone call about what she called a very important form I needed to fill out, but couldn't find online. As a result there was no way to get them in on time, except perhaps calling another accountant. When we finally spoke in person about it she apologized, said it wasn't really important and she didn't actually know how to find the form herself. I started the process of getting my business taxes done well over a month ahead of the due date. I was used to H & R block where they take a few days at most to get your taxes done. This took over a month altogether. I realize that Annette may be more detail focused than other accountants but that is just something that people should be aware of when trying to plan their taxes. They also had some issues where they were having there emails go into spam mail boxes. They finally checked on this aspect with me (because communication was going awry) on 4/15. However by that time we had already solved the issue (of making sure I checked my spam). These things alone would not have warranted such a low review (maybe 3 or 4 stars). She has a older female secretary who gave me a hard time because I called to make an appointment too late in the day. In my opinion that is best handled by not picking up the phone.Her son Victor is the office manager, when I tried to clarify some final details about the taxes and clarify why they hadn't been turned in, he insulted me, hung up on me, told me he was too busy to give me basic information, was generally hostile and told me to shut up. Seriously I was shocked and could hardly believe my ears but my daughter who was sitting across the room could actually hear it through the phone (it was not on speaker). I will say that he claims that all details about how they run their business are carefully outlined in a legal document they hand out. However as a business person I feel that it is important to communicate these things too. Like maybe checking in and saying, hey we haven't seen your signatures yet...did you get the email? That would also facilitate their getting paid quicker.Overall the experience was not convenient or positive. It was definitely cheaper than H & R block. For the most part I bet my taxes are correct, oh...except for that form that was very important and then didn't matter???! Hopefully this was an anomally at Accountax. If not, there are certainly many options out there.

Annette has been a Godsend! I've been dealing with a complicated estate that my father set up with a bank for over a year now. She is the only one who did the hard work, provided me with answers and got the job done. She has a client for life! It's not just about the numbers. She truly cares about the people she serves!

I was closing on my house and the previous tax preparer for me didn't file my taxes properly. Accountax had me come in and prepared everything within 1hr. I took the paperwork to the IRS building downtown and submitted my forms. 1 week later we closed on our house. During such an hectic and stressful time for me. Accountax was able to save the day and help me get everything squared away. Keep in mind, the staff had stayed during a snow storm to finish my paperwork before heading out the door. They will go above and beyond for there customers. Not only that. I also got $500 more than what my previous tax preparer said I was going to get. Thanks again. You have a customer for life.

Absolutely phenomenal. Annette solved our very complicated tax problem when nobody else could. Without exaggeration, we called dozens of accountants in town who gave us an answer that we knew was wrong or said they couldn't help. Annette teaches the class on this subject and handled our issue with ease and for a very reasonable fee. She has gained a client for life!

Accountax of Oregon is excellent! I really appreciate how easy they made filing taxes for me this year! After meeting with Annette in a consultation, I knew I was going to them and no one else. I worked with Annette, Kim, and Victor; and they are all the greatest and have a lot of experience. Kim was extremely knowledgeable and quick to email! I then had my fiancee take her paperwork in and she loved everyone working there as well. We won't be going anywhere else. Accountax of Oregon takes the stress out of tax season. :)

We received excellent, friendly service from Kathy who made the whole process easy. Their fees were very reasonable and we liked the fact that two of their team members double-check all returns. We will definitely be back next year!
