She has been wonderful to work with and is always prompt and extremely helpful in guiding me through any questions I have. I appreciate the personal attention I receive from her and her staff and I would (and do!) recommend their services.

I have been working with Tennessen Accounting as my tax service for over 10 years. Alicia not only advises our personal but also our business taxes. She is always willing to discuss even the smallest questions and of course the ones needing more attention. Alicia and her team have over the years become more friends than just our tax advisors and have consistently shown kindness, care, and professionalism. Alicia never gets tired explaining matters several times, she even reminds us of important items, we forget to consider, and points us into the right direction for future decisions. Alicia is also very modest regarding what she charges, especially considering the amount of work that goes into our preparation. I regard Alicia and Tennessen Accounting with highest quality and amazing service.

Very poor, unprofessional service. We have been using them for years but will not anymore. We left three Federal returns to be filed in plenty of time last March. When we hadn't heard that they were ready, we called. The tax preparer seemed to have forgotten that he was supposed to do them. He did two and said that we would have to file an extension for the third return and that he would complete it before the October deadline. Come October, we still had not heard from them so I called. Again he seemed to have forgotten that he had promised to do them, and promised to complete the return in time. After not hearing anything AGAIN at the end of November (and now past the extension deadline) I had to call and leave several messages both at the office and on his cell phone, none of which he returned. Now well into December, I finally contacted him at his office and he promises to finish the return. He presents the attitude that it is not an issue that he has forgotten to fulfill his promise and that missing deadlines for filing taxes is no big deal. This is not the standard of accountability that you should tolerate from professional accountants.

Tennessen Accounting & Tax Service tops the list for the worst service in the Milwaukee area. I’ve had my taxes done at this establishment for the last few years and never looked forward to tax season because I would have to communicate with unfriendly, unhelpful staff. However, I kept going back for only one reason, their location is convenient. Not only is the service from the administrative staff bad (I’ve never been greeted in a friendly manner and never witnessed anyone smiling or in a good mood) but the service from management, Scott Lammar (President) and Alicia Strangfeld (Vice President) is horrendous. As a loyal customer, if you have a question during the year that you would like advice on, that advice will not be forthcoming. I emailed Alicia at the beginning of November, asking her advice on an IRA policy. Since this policy is due by year-end, I gave myself ample time to act on this advice. We are now in December, and after being bounced around to Scott (who also never get back to me) I am still waiting for her to schedule a few minutes to talk with me about it. Not only is this bad service, but it also endangers my tax standing. From this experience, I can only surmise that either 1) November is the busiest month of the year for this tax service or 2) this business is highly mismanaged and not to be trusted with important tax matters.
