Accountability - Customer Service – and… “Excuses are the nails that built the house of failure”These three words and phrases have been nailed into my head since I started in the industry that I am in and have been in for 26 years.Without customer service and holding yourself accountable to your job description duties and realizing that excuses ARE the nails that will build your house made of failure is very true, but…. That is not trained to the associates at Steven M.Vogt, CPA, EA.I have been coming to Steven Vogt’s office since 2008, back when he was in a dingy strip mall behind the bowling alley in Chandler. It was great to watch him grow and become successful. I even had the pleasure of sitting down with his lovely wife Leslie at the Queen Creek office for my 2016 taxes, she was awesome and great to talk to, but, this year I am now finding out some of the tax laws for child dependent care and the way it is being delivered to me by Steven’s associates has been handled very poorly.The short story, my ex-wife (who is also a customer of Steven’s) and I did not know the details of child dependent care when it comes to divorced parents and… why would we, we aren’t tax experts. That is why I hire and pay for the service that I need from Steven’s office and his associates. I am being told that this affected my taxes for 2017 and 2016 and I am being told that as of this week. Sadly, the detailed questions that would have been greatly appreciated and received by myself and my ex-wife from the associates that prepared our taxes weren’t given to us so there is now a lot of un-needed stress and confusion that honestly… no every day American wants when it comes to the IRS and taxes.The delivery of this information holds 50% of the reason why my ex-wife and I won’t be using Steven’s office any longer and that delivery was made by Melissa at the front desk at the Chandler office. Hands down the rudest and most unprofessional woman I have ever dealt with. Which is sad because I was interested in setting something up at the Queen Creek office to go over ALL the services that Steven’s company could offer me outside of tax preparation. I enjoy and appreciate a one stop shop take on financial services and was looking forward to setting that meeting up soon, but not now.In closing, the issue is being resolved but the issue was presented poorly by Melissa and the fact that I now must go through a paperwork process with the IRS to get resolved to me is not customer service.It has been great to see Steven’s office grow over the years, I love watching local success stories.
