We use this software for our nine companies and they consistently set up every single new company wrong. Everything from pay schedules to tips to reports - if it was policies each time I would understand but all nine of our companies are supposed to be set up 100% the same their attention to detail is awful. As outlined in Patrick’s review I find it pretty hard to believe these positive reviews are authentic.

I've done payroll with ADP in the past and kept thinking: 'Man.. someone's gotta come up with a more user friendly way of processing payroll'. These guys did it. Not only that, it costs way less than ADP and you get a much better support for the little money that you do pay. I often wonder how do they make their business model work charging so little, but hey... I sure am glad they're around and wish them every success :)

I signed up for every product Rise offered, as the sales rep was amazing at selling the system and provided a great demo. I am giving the company a 4.5 star review as I was initally disspointed, but the CEO called me himself and helped to fix my issues. For the payroll module. The module is great very user friendly. I would caution for the implementation that it takes a lot of time to prepare your documents prior to importing. Take your time and make sure you understand the software first. Ask to actually use the software before importing. The time and attendance software. Overall this is a huge time saver. My only complaint here is the software is not that intuitive. The implementation team provides the training, and are really quite good but it is all based on screen shares. So make sure you set aside ample time. Would be nice to have a user manual / youtube video so i am not waiting on their schedule. Overall I have gone from sad to happy and would recommend this product to any business.

Last year I realized that I had unknowingly been paying 30% taxes vs 18%. (I was no where near that high of a tax bracket). When I realized that I was paying such a high amount, I contacted my employer, which in turn contacted Rise. Rise could not give me any explanation other than "that's what I should be paying" (it's not) and even told my employer that I would end up owing money if I did not keep paying the 30%. This was blatantly wrong. I never requested to pay more that 18% and they never told me why I was paying so much more. They were thoroughly unhelpful in changing anything as well. I got my T4 back this week and I paid close to three thousand dollars in taxes against the 18 thousand I earned. Luckily I am getting most of that back, as I OBVIOUSLY should have NEVER been paying that high of rate. Stay away.

We were initially skeptical of the idea of free payroll software. We've been using this program for a couple months and have had great support (even though we're currently on the free program). We moved over from PayWorks which was more expensive and had worse customer support.This program is also great for adding customized payroll benefits / deductions which means we can make sure we are keeping up with our provincial employment standards laws.Seems like a great company, and we'll continue to work with them when our staffing grows and we move into the paid tier.

Rise is very user friendly. The ability to import pay runs from a csv is helpful for us as we have 150+ employees. We have always been accommodated by the eager staff to write reports that are not within the standard reporting set up. They are always available via chat, phone, or email. Their timely responses are appreciated. Further we now have our employee medical benefits set up through Rise. This is helpful to have payroll and benefits in one place. Before choosing Rise we did consider 2 other big payroll companies but they did not have the reporting ability we required. We highly recommend Rise.

Rise online payroll system helped me a lot in so many ways. I definitely will give 5.0 as this is user friendly, great report writer, Excel and CSV reports, easy export and import report utility, year end reports and great customer service as well. No ad-hoc fees!I believe that as I keep on using the system, the easier the work will be.Simple and yet linked with lots of necessary information. Though the system is not perfect yet, the company is far remarkable.

My honest rating would be around 4.5, but there are three clearly fake reviews skewing the ratings so a 5.0 is justified.Our company has used Rise payroll since the first pay period of 2016. No software is perfect, but considering how young this company is, what they've accomplished so far is impressive. Highlights include easy earnings statement and register review before committing, no-charge ad-hoc runs between pay periods, powerful report writer, a great Excel-based journal entry utility, and above all no fees for employees enrolled in a benefits program where Rise is the agent of record. If you are tired of dealing with benefit brokers who seem to be working for nobody but themselves, you owe it to yourself to check them out.A measure of our confidence is the fact that we are currently implementing their HR package and hope to move to an integrated time and attendance platform in the near future. We think we're in good hands.
