I met Michael in June of 2018 and it was important he understood that I needed 3 returns correct/filed because of a mess. My husband is terminally ill and neurologically impaired so between caring for him, our 2 small children and working 50 hours a week I needed this perfect.I laid it out clearly and he stated it would cost “$600, maybe $800”. I was fine with that. 6/2018 I had an appointment with him for another matter and expecting my returns to be done. He had no clue about what I had messaged with him for the week before the appointment and the returns had not been started. He stated he couldn’t even help me with the questions I had and showed talk to another guy in the office. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and gave him a check for $600 thinking worst case I owe the $200. It wasn’t until Octeber of 2018 that his employee started working on my paperwork .Michael also asked about the current year’s return needing an adjustment and had offered to show me how to correct it myself, a month later said to drop it off that he can do it quickly. This was not discussed to be billed for. Anytime I called, messaged or emailed I would not get a response until I copied his employee on it. For a while he blamed it on his recent wedding.Now in JANUARY of 2019 we have a phone call. He tells me he is working from home that he will finish all my returns that day and email them asap. I don’t get anything from him till MAY. At that time I get 2 of the 3 returns and an incorrect bill and he ignores my 3 emails pointing out that I paid the year prior and owe nothing. So, I get 2 of the 3 returns and then I get an invoice that says this…Quoted services $800Customer referral -$200 Amount due - $600Cleary he forgot I paid and now he is insisting the increase in the rate and not completing the job is because we talked on the phone 2 times and his employee and I emailed. ARE YOU SERIOUS???? He wants $1400 to do 2 very basic returns when I earn less than 6 figures. H&R block would have taken an hour and cost less. So now he is trying to charge me a late fee and refusing to finish the job. TOTAL SCAMMER
