This company is a sham, in 2016 I sought advice from them about my mother's taxes while she was in a nursing home. I sat in the office and we spoke about what needed to be done and I was told that I would need to get information together in order for them to hold until I returned as they said I would need to do that if they were to do anything to file the taxes. We came to an agreement that they would do the taxes for $75 per return for 4 returns. I wrote a check and never got back to them because I had issues with my mom and couldn't get back to the taxes. In the interim my husband passed away that May 2017 and in June 2017 my mom passed as well. In October 2018 they cashed the check that I wrote to hold until the taxes were completed, the check was written in March 2016. I had called them at least 4 times and talked with the receptionist who knew nothing, told me she would get back to me and never did each time. I have not seen a tax return nor have I gotten any information from the IRS stating the tax returns had been processed. How could they take money when they didn't perform the function? I was told my consultation would be at no charge due to them knowing my brother.The fact that they take funds from people and they don't do what they say they are going to do is a total injustice. I have since contacted my attorney on this matter to see where we can go with this. Short of going to their bank (which I am hoping is the same one the routing number reads on the back of my cashed check) or filing in small claims court, this just throws me for a loop. I suggest if you want to keep your money in your pocket to find a reputable accounting firm. I know they have been in business for a very long time but the look of the office in general it's a wonder they can find anything, it's such a mess....

This company is now run under the name Tax Specialists Inc. Buddy has been in possession of our taxes for at last 7 weeks and I have not received any type of update even though I have tried for weeks now. I call the office every day and am told 'he's in with clients all day" (if i'm even lucky enough to speak with the receptionist). They say all they can do is send a message to him. I have left several emails directly to Buddy with no response. All I have ever asked for is an update. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in terms of communication.

Just now I call this office I told him if he can do the tax service for me, the lady Told me stay in holde around 5 mints and then shut off the phone. What is that !

Beware of this accountant Buddy. I was cursed out of the office when I requested my tax info back. My appointment was Feb. 5th and I asked if he would mind looking at past tax info. I had to email that info to him as I had not brought them with me. 2nd email was to add school loan info as well but that was my last communication with Buddy. It is now March 19th and after many promises of "after this weekend", Promised deadlines not met, and just a general lack of communication, I found another tax specialist whom I feel can handle my easy 1099 taxes. I was polite and non confrontational even as I was greeted with "Find your s**t and get the F*** out!" Buddy is not professional. Obviously disorganized since he told ME to find my own tax papers in 4 huge stacks of, what I assume are other clients tax info. Not a nice guy to deal with. After reading several other bad reviews online I think I may be the lucky 1. Best to avoid this company all together and deal with a professional that wont curse at you.

I have been using MHR for years. The last two years have been a nightmare trying to get someone to respond to my calls, messages, and emails about my taxes. This year I am taking my business elsewhere. I recommend you do the same.
