Client Review on City Of Leander

Feedback:

Love being in my hometown, but the cops are something else around here. I'm driving home, just got done with work and some side work I planned out for after. I finally get into leander and cop pulls out from side street and starts following me from 2 cars behind. Well I come up on a two lane intersection, left lane can go straight or left. Right lane can go right. I get in left lane. Stop before railroad tracks. Wait for green. Go straight through intersection. Well they follow me through the intersection so I just immediately pulled over in a nice well lit parking lot before they even turned on their lights. We stop, they turn on lights, creep up on both sides and tell me I'm being stopped for making an illegal turn. "I went straight officer". Yes but you cant go straight in the left lane. "That's the only way you can go straight. Right lane is right turn only." Other officer shrugs and they say they will be waiving that (which first off waving what? Obiding by the rules of the road?) (2243 and 183 light with rr tracks)Then they said my 3rd brake light wasnt working (it was and is). But I just said "ah gotcha". Then they do the whole "you seem nervous" (I absolutely was not. I was calling them officer and man and was completely laid back through the process. I nicely explained that I've been around cops all my life. "No reason for me to be nervous, I understand what you're getting at. Yes you may search my car." They laugh and one officer starts searching my car while I hang back and talk to the other officer. Honestly, may have just been my perception of it, but the whole time hes asking me if I could fix his apple watch and asking me about the stickers on my car, asked about my fiance. He even asked how I pulled over and knew they were gonna stop me. But the weird thing is, everything he had to say sounded like he was upset he didn't catch me for anything and decided to have a pissing match with words instead. "I just bought another watch when mine broke" cool story after asking me if I could fix it for 5 minutes. It got to the point that I told him "you probably couldnt pay me enough to work on that watch. " Which was good timing cause the officer finished searching my car. Gave me the okay to sit in my car again. I do so then another cop shows up. So they called in another vehicle for transport before they even finished the search. lol. I waited for them to search my license ten more times before I could finally finish the (literally 40 yards from my house) drive home. But before I left, I asked the guy genuinely "so be honest with me man, whyd you stop me tonight? Just youngin in a mustang past dark or what?" "This time of night, we look for anyone we can pull over. Were trying to cut down on drunk drivers and get some drug arrests." So let's get something clear, cops DO NOT need a reason to pull you over. They will make it up as they go. The narrative will be controlled by the officer (for the most part) every time. If the good old boys wanna stop you, they will, and no they dont have to have a reason. They have to have a reason to arrest you of course. But realistically, if you're 23 in a fast car past dark, you're suspicious. Glad to be home. Be safe out there people!
