If your not sure if you were fired or laid off contact your employer to see how they will report it. If you report it differently you will be denied benefits, charged with fraud, have to pay back benefits + penalty and banned from collecting for a year even if you get laid off from another job. If the department of labor gives you bad advise it doesn't mater you still lose your benefits. All because you clicked the wrong box. They have there own Judges to, not bias I'm sure ;-(

So far, they are doing fantastic. And the VA rep never asked my rank until deep into the interview. However, I don't actually have a job yet, but they were very helpful with getting me on track to get my teaching credential and find additional work.

I asked to see the Vet representative. The lady at the front seat told me "that's generally for people E6 and above to get leadership careers , and you came out as an E4 so I don't know if they'll be able to help you". It was really insulting and she was wrong, she was obviously trying to avoid helping me. Their front staff was really ignorant and in helpful. They didn't answer any questions and turned you too the phone any chance they can, instead of going the extra mile to assist you. It was ridiculous, but the VA rep was excellent help, when I finally met with him. -July2014
