Zero star!Hudson, as a company, can best be described in the words of Obi Wan Kenobi, “you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy”. Anyone thinking Hudson will help them find their next career opportunity needs to heed Obi Wan’s next piece of advice, “We must be cautious!” Employment recruiters are, in the words of the Duke of Wellington, “the scum of the earth!” Hudson is a bucket shop of the worst variety; it’s operatives, largely on 457 visas or worse, are parasites, modern-day slavers who traffic in human commodities. These parasites offer a future they cannot provide and are as dishonest as real estate agents, ambulance chasing solicitors and used car salespeople. It’s best to avoid Hudson and the other large slavers in the market. Go to the source and cut out the parasites.
Feedback:
A horrible experience with unprofessional careless staff. Was asked to come into their office for an interview to allegedly be screened for engineering and telecommunications companies. The "professional" interview was pointless with stupid questions about personal life and what I do for hobbies over the weekend. Eventually, someone leaned forward and said "we just noticed on your resume you don't have many certifications listed" then with a stupid grin he told me that his clients usually demand certifications and this company is a licensed provider of corporate training. They asked me to apply for a dodgy "corporate training package" costing thousands of my money in order to apply for what they call "high end clients". Dont waste your time with these jokers.

Hudson likes to think that it is a well oiled machine. Just like any other large corporate it chugs along no matter what turning a blind eye to the constant haemorrhaging of employees due to mismanagement and power struggles of middle management, toxic office culture, and general lack of transparency, support and direction; just to name a few. Although I am focusing primarily on the view as a former recruitment consultant, all the aforementioned is applicable to other sections of the organisation- finance, back office support, IT and payroll. My personal experience at Hudson saw the departure of so many talented individuals that felt Hudson was the modern day slave driver with expectations being set so high and unachievable (all the while being paid below market rate), and being managed by leaders that make you question- what exactly do they do aside from telling you what to do? I have noticed since my leave that Hudson have recently taken on a new regional director who comes from a heavily KPI and numbers driven agency environment. Having spoken to some current consultants there is general consensus that he has not been taken well due to his abrasive nature and general shake up of the already struggling company. Recently there has a huge drive to employ more recruitment consultants with their Seek advertising beginning with ‘due to huge growth’ which we all know is a complete lie as they are losing more consultants than they can onboard. I’d stay clear from this company. Unless the new regional director changes the work environment, provides more support to new and emerging recruitment consultants and be more transparent in salary and requirements, then yes, it is a great place to learn as much as you can about recruitment- and then leave onto better pastures that respect you and nurture you; and most importantly value you as an employee

To the all innocent job searchers, you should know that recruitment agency never works in the best interest of the candidates. They work for their clients which pay them commissions after successfully placing you or selling you. In their mind, it's only about commission. You are just 1 of their many PRODUCTS they present to their clients and they usually pick 5-6 products. It does not matter to them whether their clients select you or not as long as the clients pick any product they present to their clients because either way they earn commission. The ironic thing is that the recruitment agency likes to present themselves to the candidates as if they are assisting candidates for job search. However, they only have interest in you only if your work experience is matching with what their clients want. Once their client shows no interest in your resume, so does the recruitment agency. They will ignore your email, your phone calls as they think you are wasting their time of their life to achieve their commission target.During the recruitment process, you will notice they keep checking if you are waiting for other job interviews and possibly offers to make sure they don't waste time on you for nothing. If you choose to be honest with them telling them you are considering other roles/opportunities, they may remove you from their short list (even though it's normal for a job seeker to be open for all job opportunities). If you choose not to tell them and end up taking other role instead of their role, they will probably get angry (professionally) and blacklist you (behind your back). Therefore, fear of being blacklisted, no candidate is telling the ugly truth about the recruitment agency's nature of living on selling "human" as products and cold-blooded ignore candidates if they don't seem to add value to their bank accounts. Hudson (Sydney branch) is no different than others as I experienced a situation described above. But since nowadays many companies are now using recruitment agencies and you have no choice but to deal with them, make sure you put on your firm masks and stay strong during your job search.

If you are a professional looking for work in the financial services.... go with Hudsons...I was looked after from the time of being recommended a job, to applying for the job, going for the interview and even after I got the job there was after sales support that overwhelmed me. I dealt with Charmaine there and would highly recommend her if you want to get the job you seek.... that was not a pun.
