I thought that having coverage on my photo equipment was the smart and reassuring thing to do incase I ever had an issue with damaged or stolen goods. I guess thats not the case! After being a customer of this company for several years, I went to report my lost GoPro only to be told that they don't cover anything under $500. I think I will be terminating my account. It does not make sense. If I were to drop one of my $800+ lenses and still have to pay such a high deductible, on top of my monthly fee in order to get a new one.

I purchased small business insurance (professional and general liability) for me and my husband's home inspection business in April 2018. The following premium payments were made via autodraft from my credit card: •$102.70 – April 30th initial payment to start policy •$51.33 – May 29th payment •$51.33 – June 29th payment •$51.33 – July 30th payment •$51.33 – August 29th payment •$51.33 – September 28th payment When I contacted Hiscox on 9/24/2018 to update my address I was advised by their representative, Adrian, that I should never been allowed the policy from the beginning as Hiscox does not cover home inspectors and that my policy would be cancelled immediately. In short, we had been making payments towards an insurance policy that ultimately would not have covered our business and apparently per Hiscox policy and Adrian, should have never been approved. Luckily I did not have any incidences or needed to file any claims. The representative advised that she could refund 3 months' worth of premiums within 2-3 business days. I checked my credit card statement on 9/30/18 (6 days later) only to see 2 month's worth of premiums refunded in the amount of $108.57. Hiscox even continued to withdraw the September payment after the policy was cancelled and has not refunded this amount either. (Policy cancelled 9/24/2018; payment withdrawn on 9/28/2018) Since Representative Adrian reiterated several times that they do not cover home inspectors, legally they should refund all monies paid towards the policy.

As a photographer...the first thing I knew I needed to do was get insured for the worst case scenario. After research and thorough conversations with Hiscox, I got everything I needed to sleep well at night. WELL... 4 years into business, the biggest fear happened! Losing photos! THE ONE and only time I had a hard drive failure with absolutely NO recovery, absolute LOSS an amazing clients photos from one of her MOST important life events! Hiscox was there! Specifically Hilary! She reassured my client and I that my professional liability would take care of the damages and she was so friendly and FAST! So VERY professional, understanding and was so amazing to my client as well. My client even told me, wow... how lucky are you to have such great insurance with a great company! HISCOX helped keep my reputation intact and I am forever grateful! THANK YOU!!!

I have never been a fan of insurance companies so when our Computer and Electronics Service center was burglarized this past fathers day ,We were devastated. We lost hundreds of dollars worth of items including customers items that were in for service. I thought for sure we were out of business because we could never payback and recover the losses. Thank God we had Hiscox insurance. Matthew A. Taylor, AIC-MSenior Claims AnalystHiscox USA and his company sent out an adjuster the next day and helped us report our losses.
