After many years of leaving tax money on the table, Emerald is not only cleaning up my books, but teaching me how to maximize my tax situation going forward. I would highly recommend Emerald Business Solutions for ANY entrepreneur; large or small.

SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE... *MUST READ*If you’re a Small Business Owner, you’ll want to read this. I’m a very small business owner and was in need of an accountant to help he get caught up (I’m sure I’m not the only one). I went in last week for a consultation with Andrea (the owner). She was very aggressive right from the get go, but figured I’d give her the benefit of the doubt. Despite the seemingly high rates I decided to give them a shot. Before leaving, she slid a piece of paper in front of me and told me to sign it. (Regretfully, I didn’t read it over). She also told me I had to leave a $500 deposit for them to even open my account. That’s not just a couple dollars for a small business owner. But despite being concerned about it, I transferred her $500. One day later- I told a friend of mine how much Emerald was going to charge me PER MONTH, and he nearly fell over... he told me his accountant could do it for a THIRD of the cost. So naturally as a Small Business Owner- I wanted to save a few thousand a year and go with the cheaper option. I called Emerald that day and spoke with one of her managers (Dan). Told him I had found someone cheaper, and decided I wouldn’t be going with Emerald after all. He of course tried to persuade me into giving them a chance. I declined and asked to have my $500 deposit back since they hadn’t done any accounting work for me yet..... and this is where I saw the true character of Emerald. He made it very clear that there was no chance in hell I’d get my $500 back...I asked to speak with Andrea personally- she was “in a meeting”. I called back Monday (yesterday), to ask her for my deposit back. Finally getting through to her, she told me ,and I quote “That $500 is gone. My hourly wage for the consultation (which I assumed was free but apparently isn’t) was $195 per hour. As well as the $95 to open my account, along with another $95 to close it. Well, first things first- that doesn’t add up to $500... Second, she doesn’t tell you that this consultation costs $195 per hour- so be sure you’re not burning up to much time if you go in for one! And lastly, she had the audacity to tell me,not only am I not getting my deposit back- but I also owe them another $252 because I didn’t cancel within 10 days of the months end.All this.... after being with Emerald for ONE day. All I wanted was the $500 deposit back that they didn’t work for. But apparently they need it more than I do. Now ,because of this review, they’ll potentially lose tens of thousands. Refund my deposit and the review comes down. Signed- Small Business Owner

Worked with them for 14 months. Good, responsive service and excellent work on handling taxes for my consulting business. Expect them to demand all your receipts, and then to save you money because of it. Very pleased.

I’ve been using Emerald Business Solutions for 5 years, I absolutely LOVE them. As a business owner, I have so much on my plate to deal with, they have saved me countless hours of extra work, they take care of my book keeping and all accounting services for me from start to finish. They even offer to pick up your paperwork, again time saved so I can focus on my company and not paperwork. They always explain everything thoroughly and if I don’t understand something, they go the extra mile to make sure any confusion is cleared up. I trust them with my business and am extremely happy with their service. If you’re an entrepreneur looking to save time, money, and headaches, Emerald is the accounting service you need in your life!

This company is totally a scam. Their agenda is trying to save taxes to have more clients. Andrea (owner) is the one who gave an advice on how to save taxes. She is not even qualified to give advice . She’s not even an accountant nor any accounting certificate . She doesn’t even know the rules in CRA. But she lied too much and in the end CRA audit my company file and disallow all the company expenses that she told me i can claim. She mess up my book completely and pay her company too much money. I paid more since i hired another company to fix their mistake . Don’t ever trust this company. There is no real accountant working in this company. But they charge too high. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME !!!!!! CRA Red flag if Emerald Business Solution will do your books .

Look, I'm a tradesman. I'm great at building things. But, when it comes to paperwork, keeping receipts and working with the CRA. I'm horrible. Emerald took care of all the paperwork when i started my company. I've heard so many horror stories from people that tried to do it themselves. My experience: I made an appointment and after 1.5 hours. My company was set up. including WSB, GST and Incorporation. My business partner and i were given a "lesson" on how to organize our receipts, pay our taxes and good filing practices. The experience and the way that everything has been laid out has limited my stress and made confident that i made the right choice. If your going to set up your own company, make the smart and easy decision and go with Emerald Business solutions.
