**WARNING!!!***Computers crash at Altoona Tax with no backup. If you are trying to find an accountant, this is NOT the place to go. Especially if you have to leave a message for a response. This shady place is obviously screening calls. I had tax business done with Laura. Spent over $900 for her to do my taxes. Later asked her for a form that I needed and was not in my copies provided by her. She was unable to give it to me due to a crashed computer with no backup. No joke! That was her excuse! I have every reason to think it wasn’t provided with the forms I sent to the IRS which concerns me. Believe the ratings from this business.

This company is awful. My husband had them file his taxes in 2015 he had two years that needed filed. The first year they put that we lived in Johnston PA. We clearly don't so when we tried to buy a house they wouldn't accept them. The second year 2014 we just found out this year they did them but never filed them so the IRS came after us for money that we never knew we owed because it was never filed! My husband went in there today to tell them about this and ask them to file them after he met with the IRS. They told him they would fax in state and he needed to mail in federal. No apology or anything. Who knows if they are even correct. What a joke of a business.

Poor communication! Does not return messages for months. He did not include my W-2 on my tax form and submitted without. I caught this error, resent him the W-2 info and asked him to amend. He never did and never returned my phone calls or emails. My new tax preparer had to fix this error.

We are very disappointed in Altoona Tax Service. Errors made 3 different times on our taxes. The first time he admitted the error and paid the interest owed. The second and third time (this was very recently) he did not. Difficult to reach. Seems to be out of the office unless it is tax time. Careless for a professional. Disappointed. Will not be going back. Never had problems with the IRS until we started going to him.

I've had my taxes done there for the past 8 years. I have extremely complicated taxes as I travel for work and they must calculate mileage and other private business expenses. Never had a problem and have always gotten professional results. I even got audited a few years ago and Jeremiah solved the problem with the State of Iowa within a week. I would definitely recommend them to anyone I know!!
