Nice offices. Plenty of computers to use. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Thanks so much.

Feedback:

I LOVE this place!! It's such an awesome resource for those who receive EBT benefits. The case manager Aster (sp?) is just great. She will help you with bus tokens or DASH passes (as much as their funding will allow), or with a referral to their in-house accessible resume writer- all the way to their in-house Job Placement Representative. Their goal is to help you find gainful employment and to get back on your feet. Their very generous computer area also has printers and copiers to use. There is a Job Posting bulletin board that has an array of employers as well as days and times for Job Fair's that they host often (usually monthly). They also offer computer classes for Free!!...just make sure to sign up early, because their spaces fill up quickly. Whether you are a beginner or are looking to brush up on your skills, they have something for everyone (imo). When I met with the Job Placement Specialist, he explained that they work with several companies that do direct-to-hire and can actually schedule an interview while you are there. I can't say enough about this place. They have been extremely kind and hopeful towards me. I am about to go in and brush-up my resume so I can email it to a potential employer. Best of luck on your journey to get back on your feet!✌

Feedback:

I never knew this resource existed in our area and it's fantastic! It's basically a one stop "shop" that helps connect local businesses needing to fill a position with job seekers searching for one while offering free career readiness workshops and assistance (if needed/eligible) figuring out the public benefits maze of paperwork. Though I have my own computer, etc. there is a staffed onsite career center/computer lab and printing facilities- everything you need to get resume help and job interview skills in addition to just having a quiet place to print and send a resume. I'm already referring people searching for work to their job board and office and I've only known about it for a few months. Right on the bus line and off 395, so a great location as well.

Feedback:

I hate this place so much. When I got in there, I signed in and waited for like 30 min. After 30 min, they called me and they checked my address. My adress is Alexandria zipcode 22311, and walking distance to this Job Link. But, still they told me I can get more service if I go to fairfax county Job corner becuse I am not part of from Alexandria. And they don't let me meet with the youth counselor bc I am not suppose to receive benefit from alexandria. Therefore, I met with adult counselor. She is not nice at all. Once I start talking, she starts looking for my weak point, so she can put that in the system. She said my accent is very heavy, and she asked me if I watch my country moive, and she said to quit watching my country moive. She said my speaking is so bad that it sounds like I knows how to speak without knowing how to write. Basically saying that I am like illiterate. At that time, I have a part-time job (contract), and my contact is going to expire soon. That is why, I am looking for a job. And I am a college student. She really hurts my feeling.( I thought that America is make up with all the immigrants from the world. All of us can have different accents, and I thought all accents are beautiful. But it turns out to be I won't get hired because of my accent. Then, all american has heavy accent bc they don't have Brithish accents.) So, I don't go back there after that time, they told me to sign sth to contact them. I singed that , but I never go back there again. If my accent is so heavy, why did she understand everything I said. How did she write down everything I said on computer. By the way, she said she will put me in the system that " I don't speak english catagory". And she said she will note that " I speak english , but accent is heavy". My experience of going there is very bad. Since that time, I decide that I don't also want to work in enviroment where they don't want to hire me bc of my accent. Thank u for reading, long right ?
