Client Review on Total Business Solutions, LLC

Feedback:

I hired Total Business Solutions (TBS) in 2012 on a monthly payment for bookkeeping and accounting services. The service was not great. Quick to send out an invoice but not very responsive to emails, texts, phone calls. Typically takes weeks to get a response. I didn't realize the extent of their negligence until long after I fired them. See the timeline:June 2013 my tax returns were filed for the tax year 2012 and I received copies including 2012 Form 1120S for my business.Sep 6 2013 I terminated my agreement with TBS via email. I was paid up through August. It took until Oct 3rd for TBS to acknowledge.March 2016 during a call to the IRS, it was discovered no 2012 1120S was on file. The IRS had my personal 1040 return, but no business 1120S return. I sent the IRS the signed copy of the 1120S that I was given by TBS back in 2013. Shortly thereafter, the IRS sent me a penalty of $2400 for late filing. I then called TBS and had a long talk with Jason Trafford and he assured me he was going to fix this. I asked him to go into his records and give me the proof that he electronically filed my 2012 1120S. He surely has a record of that. He told me his computer crashed and he lost all his files and he now uses a different software system for filing his returns. So he doesn’t have any record of the filing. Really?Oct 26 2017 I sent email to Jason asking for him to either send me the money for the penalty or I will take him to court. Jason responded that he fired another employee and he has to do everything himself, blah, blah, blah. He acted as though he had no idea of what the penalty was all about. I had to explain it again. I had to send him the penalty letters again. His final response on that email chain was this: “I'm will get this handled. Im sorry about this. I was under the impression that this had all been handled and you would be awaiting a refund soon. Remind me on Monday so I don't let the week start without this on my hot list.”Nov 28 2017 Jason sent me an email: “I haven't forgotten about you. I'm trying to get someone at the IRS to give me the proper address for these letters. They are saying they didn't receive our letters and haven't given me a new address yet. Unfortunately when I call, I am on his left for over an hour each time. So if a meeting comes up then I have to hang up and start again each time.” That was the last response I received from Jason.Jan 11 2018 I emailed the IRS and asked about the status of Jason Trafford as an Enrolled Agent. Their response: “This practitioner is NOT an active enrolled agent.” I also called the IRS that day and asked if Jason Trafford or anyone has sent any letters on my behalf. Their answer was no. I asked if anyone had called on my behalf. The answer again was no.Jan 20 2018 TBS was served a summons to appear in court. No response.
