They do not have a Cochrane office. Their cost was not transparent - I was very shocked to have an $1800 invoice for bookkeeping for a small one client business. When I asked why they spent so many hours they claimed my previous accountant was incompetent, so it had to be done over. I would have appreciated a heads-up before they went ahead with all the extra work. Not that it was very much as I'm just one IT consultant with one client, and only started last September.Be prepared to be charged 95$/hr for 'correspondence' - a quick email from them will be pricy. Any questions will cost you and they'll meet you at a restaurant on your dime (but you won't know that until your invoice comes). They also work on retainer and expect an e-transfer up-front to 'get started' All I have from them is a Quickbooks backup file I cannot open. I feel robbed, scammed, and taken advantage of. I certainly do not feel like a Smart Contractor at all.

I have been using Smart Contractor for a number of years now. It removes so much of the after hours work that goes on when you are self employed with a small business. I used to dread the evenings of paperwork to get caught up on the books. I have two kids in hockey and we are a very active family. Now I have time to do all the activities without falling behind on the admin side. Smart contractor deals with my payroll, CRA, WCB, GST etc. so efficiently and they are always accessible by phone or email.
