This company is terrible.Everything I say in this post is truth and I have proof. It's a fight club between existing temps and new ones that are hired at a lesser rate. When a new temp wants to get hired, they have that temp and staff start attacking you. The attacks are the following: 1) School Professional staff would send you to the most problematic sites. Staff would have kids with severe behavioral problems disrespect or challenge the worker, to have an excuse to end the assignment. Also the school staff will accuse the worker of something, so the worker is forced to work for less pay at other assignments.2)most assignments dont start till 9am but the school would have you come in as early 7am. You will continously get early jobs like this if you live at least 1 hour and 15 min away. And you cant be late now. I have been sent to LONG ISLAND, QUEENS Close to the airport, SOUTH BRONX, and i live in brooklyn (only had 4 assignments in bklyn during the 6 months).3)the schools or the staff giving you assignments would want you to sleep with individuals to keep your job. i met a guy from east brooklyn on the subway.i didnt give him my number, by i took his. The next day SCHOOL PROFESSIONALS sent me a job in east brooklyn for 2 days. I clicked on the job within seconds, but it was already taken. I guess it could have been mines had i given my number. the job was sent on sunday, fired tuesday.4)none of the long term work assignments given last till the end. unless your a relative or friend of a school professional staff or your sleeping around for it. Example: i was able to get my assignment extended and the worksite to pay me more money. I asked for more money because I was not given a 30 min break and my prep was used to help the teacher grade essay's and test, sharpen pencils, and do bullentin boards. All of a sudden, day 2 of my increased salary assignment,a fight breaks out in the classroom. Now the lil girl was problematic but normally would sit in her assigned seat and just stayed quiet. But this day one of the other teachers was out, just me and the teacher was in the classroom. This day she came in sat in another seat, next to another student that could get problematic, and refused to get up. Both I and the teacher talked to her nicely, bent down to her to speak her, but she still refuse. Then the lil girl started attacking the girl sitting behind her. Me and the teacher broke up the fight.then all of I get a call from school professional saying i said all of this stuff to the teacher and was put on 30 day probation. Again my assignment was extended with increased my pay, how it get so bad so quickly?was it that the teacher didnt need me after grading her quarterly ELA test that she descibed as tetious? Was it that i demanded more money for not receiving a 30 min lunch break? 5) they help traffick workers to other countries. Because why were they being pressured to fire me? was it to force me to work over seas? The last assignment, the worksite complained that I refered to a student as being muslim. A student came to me and ask could he go to the bathroom. I said "the muslim girl just went and you have to wait until she comes back." Mind you I did not receive a roster of student names.The school staff said I upsetted another student by saying another student was muslim. I had to explain to the student the reason why people wear a hijab is TO BE IDENTIFIED AS MUSLIM. It isnt a shame, its something to be proud of. And I identified her as such, so he knew who to look out for, in order to go to the bathroom when the person returned. 6) there is so much more but it would be a book. Work here if you got the skills and the support of the community, to get people fired. I didnt have that support so they basically used me to throw there trash on me and I cant even get a reference. Its not what you do, its where you live and who you know.Excuse for any typos and grammatical errors. I just needed to vent because I have no one to help me overcome what these employers have been doing to me.

I’m leaving an anonymous review. I would of given them five stars but I feel that this agency is very unfair. Yes they do set you up to work so if u are looking for work temp this is a good agency. How ever I been with the agency for almost 5 years now and they do not show aperciation to there employees. They do give out prizes such as gift cards and metro cards, electronics. But they seem to forget it’s the little things that count. I’m constantly being requested to work for this one school I love and not once have they aperciated that and it’s been almost 5 years the same school requests me over and over. The teachers love me through out the school and constantly asking for me back. Now as for the absent policy they will threaten you Time after time if u call out after 5 am. But emergencyies do happen. Even if you do have a doctors note it doesn’t matter to them. They will still threaten to terminate you. What I’m trying to say is i think they should give there employees more respect and acknowledgment when it comes to all the hard work we put it. At the end of it all if it wasn’t for the employees they would not be still standing because the substitutes make them there money. They should really focus on the positive instead the constant threats. Maybe call up the school and ask how the sub has been doing. So they can be given positive feedback. They should focus more on the positive especially with the ones who have been with them for a while. Bottom line if they do happen to terminate some one that has been with them for a while, most likely the school that that person was subbing in for a while will hire them because they love them. So the sub will not be missing out, the agency will loss a good worker over a emergency call out after 5 am . The schools show more apperciation then the agency.

Please be aware of predatory business practices. School Professionals is a temp agency that places substitute teachers in available positions. To qualify with this company, one must endure several time commitments (an interview, fingerprinting, transport, a 3 hour online test / information session), as well as pay $125 for NYC fingerprinting. Over the course of three months, actively "accepting" available jobs, I was only assigned one position. The lack of available work led me to believe that this company employs more people than they have available jobs. If you are looking for a way to start working immediately, this is NOT a viable option. I invested more time clicking on positions to accept than I spent getting paid for my work.
