My partner can only concur with the other reviewers comments. His experience has been very negative with regards to the whole process of working for RACS and as an agency worker generally. The list of expenses that are deducted from one's salary is so ridiculous that sometimes you feel you need to question whether or not there will be anything left for yourself to live on. I got my holiday pay back but again this wasn't straight forward and I needed the agency to put pressure on RACS to come good. Got an e-mail fro one of the Directors outlining the legal position etc but the whole process is weighted very heavily against the poor worker doing all the work. It's capitalism in its purest form!! Not being able to claim back your tax if you haven't earned enough was a revelation and a shock as HRMC stated that I had earned £0 in tax but yet the money I received from RACS wasn't anything like the gross amount I received for slugging my guts out. Avoid if possible.

Responded to an email from RACS back in 2011 or so. Must've got my email address/name from Jobserve no doubt. They were listed elsewhere as OK to deal with. Signed up to their 'Umbrella company for Contractors facility'. Got totally hammered for NI and whatever number of other deductions they could think of. Phoned them up and said 'there's a problem'. They said there wasn't. I consulted an accountant - he said there was a problem, and I promptly signed up to him as a Ltd Company. Got a cheque from HMRC about 4 weeks later for £4000 or so. Says it all . .

Difficult to deal with and an unprofessional setup. Avoid this company if you want to be paid correctly and on time. Unfortunately this company seems to exist purely to make a fat profit from low paid workers. They should be banned.

appalling treatment. refused to pay my holiday pay that they had taken from me, excuse 1; it can't be claimed for a previous year, their contract states holiday year runs 6th April each year, today is the 4th April so it's too late. excuse 2: the money was paid to RACS collective, a part of the company no longer trading. i was told they are going into administration. how can this be legal? Avoid.

Started off well, ended in disaster (that might cost thousands). Would not recommend. Abysmal customer service. Will happily take your money without rendering a service. Aside from the above, only "old" style setup to enter expenses, no mobile app that will allow you to snap a picture and upload, unlike other cheaper competitors! Invoicing also sporadic and needs constant hand holding/prompting to do anything. Only re-active and not pro-active. Even then, barely competent. Only used as i knew someone who worked there, but wouldnt recommend to anyone. #Ripoff

i have seen the other reviews, to be honest thier all talking a load of bull. from day one they have been very helpful! quick to respond and very polite. always paid me on time. the advance payment is brill! you can loan your weeks wages in advance and doesnt cost much at all! never had a problem with these guys

These people are unethical and immoral. Umbrella companies are quite literally `gangsters' and operate on a similar format to the mafia and loan sharks. Their sole purpose is to profit from the low paid. After an investigation by the BBC there have been calls for them to be outlawed. If the person who left the positive review was made aware of what these charlatans were up to, they would change the review. RACS group did NOT have their best interests in mind. when they intervened to rectify his payment. They were ONLY concerned with their own self interest by skimming off their wages. When alerting RACS that the agency made an error, RACS realised they were missing out on their cut.DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR GIMMICKS TO ENTICE YOU. IT'S A COMPLETE SCAM.
