My experience with Press Gold Group over the last few years has been wonderful! As a small business owner I prefer working with local businesses. I have to say that Kate and her team have been so helpful with the recent platform conversion. They have always been receptive and they get back to me so quickly whenever I have questions. I will continue to work with Press Gold Group and recommend their services.

I am so disappointed to have to write this review. I have used Press Gold Payroll for years for multiple businesses. Unfortunately, over that time, I have experienced several serious mistakes. As a small business owner, I try to be particularly understanding when mistakes occur and have tried not to let these mistakes cloud my judgment about their service overall. Unfortunately, after a recent serious mistake, I have to share my experience to ensure others are aware of this when choosing a payroll service.The primarily issue seems to be that they either do not have enough staff to handle the payroll they have - or the staff they do have need to do a better job managing their accounts because the mistakes on their part I have experienced always relate to my conveying something about my payroll well before it processes, and their failing to actually make the change I have requested - and they have confirmed. This ranges from my telling them an employee only has 5 days on payroll and them paying them for 14 days to my asking to remove automatic payroll (where they automatically do the same amount) and them failing to do so resulting in incorrect amounts being paid.Most recently, I emailed them to share that an employee left our employment and that the 7/15 paycheck would be their final paycheck. Their payroll person responded and confirmed that she had been removed from payroll and that she made the change in their system. They issued the final check (7/15) for the correct final check amount.Fast forward 6 weeks, I emailed our 9/1 payroll in. The payroll person asked what the pay should be for the terminated employee. I immediately was like what??? She was terminated, which you confirmed, over a month ago. I then tried to log in to their cumbersome multi-step multiple password protected special site and could not see the 8/1 payroll because it "expired". I then went to the 8/15 payroll. Sure enough, that terminated employee had been paid the full amount. I called immediately, and was told they had in fact paid her two full pay periods and not removed her as they had confirmed to me - at a cost of thousands of dollars to me. I gave them over a week to refund the money and fix the mistake, which they agreed to do. Assuming they did this, I was going to let it go. Unfortunately, I was just emailed and was basically told they aren't going to fix it nor refund me until they get that money back from the former employee. They aren't going to refund the paycheck for her, they aren't going to refund their fees related to her paychecks, they aren't going to refund the payroll taxes they charged me for, for her (even though she didn't actually receive that and those aren't being returned to them). It has now been two weeks since this mistake was discovered and they still have refused to refund the thousands of dollars they took from my account without authorization.Overall, I'm just very disappointed and frustrated with this experience. I'd recommend before deciding whether to use them, to really grill them on mistakes like these and get a firm commitment on how they'd handle it because these mistakes can have a serious impact on your cashflow and cost you thousands.
