I had a horrendous experience at this ER Tuesday morning . I'm prone to severe drug-resistant kidney infections, and was having unbearable pain that I knew already was a kidney infection. The doctor never even touched me - didn't palpate my stomach, didn't listen to my heart and lungs, didn't tap my back. I've gone through this enough to know what to expect, and I didn't receive any of the care I needed. I checked my medical record this morning and found that, despite being given my history and my urinalysis coming back normal, the doctor prescribed antibiotics anyway without even ordering a urine culture to confirm the presence of infection. When I called, any number of excuses were made, but I'm a medical professional myself and as far as I'm concerned there's no excuse for this, especially with my history of drug resistance and the rise of drug resistance everywhere. Frankly, it's just negligent. I'm sure I'll have another one of these infections, because I get them every few months, but you can be absolutely certain I'll never return to this ER.
