My husband, myself and 3 small dogs were traveling from Hunt Valley MD to Bradshaw WV. Our home is 7 hours away and our pickup truck was completely loaded, this was mid day Sunday 04 14 2019. Existing the beltway our brakes failed and we were in desperate need of help. While searching for a place, praying what precious little fluid we had left would be enough we came upon Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company. My husband has been a volunteer fireman for 30 years so we were relieved to find help. We sat in the parking lot for 30 minutes or more knocking on doors, allowing our dogs to do business, hood up on truck, nothing. My husband called them finally, quite a few men suddenly appeared. They told us a mechanic was right down the road,and off we go. Mechanic is not working. Seeing that we have no tools to work with, we are basically stranded so he called the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company back once again asking for help. They said they would be right down. We go back back and wait for them. You guessed right, they never showed. Like I said my husband has been a member of the Bradshaw Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years and they would never have treated a person in need especially a fellow Volunteer Fire Fighter with such rudeness. My husband is 64, his health isn't the greatest. I'm 56 and here we are, all on our own trying to fix this problem, 7 hours from home.
