I'd been going to Kevin Kooyman for years. They made mistakes, but always made good on them. What really bugged me was the dysfunction in appointment scheduling, Kevin's lateness and distractability. Every time I came I knew something would go wrong. The last time I came 2/24/15, someone had scheduled a North Liberty couple to come to the Marengo office. The couple came to the North Liberty office at 1:30. When I arrived in North Liberty at 2:00, Kevin explained the misunderstanding and sent me home. I'd driven 14 miles one way to get there. He took my tax file, ignored the fact that I said we'd had an inheritance, forgot to tell me I needed a K-1 form, and said he'd do my taxes without going over them with me and drop them off at my house on Friday. No show, no phone call on Friday. I had to call his office. The receptionist said Kevin wasn't there but she'd call him.He called me and said he'd drop them off Saturday or Sunday or I could come in. After he'd done my taxes, he said I needed a K-1 form. Couldn't understand why I'd be upset. Fed up. Going elsewhere.
