Overall Feedback:
I used Darcy last year for my taxes and it was a very negative experience. I was recently divorced and my ex-husband did our taxes for over 20 years, so I wasn't completely familiar with all the ins and outs . And I had a new house , alimony and a son in college to claim for the first time. Even after I explained to her that it was my first time filing my taxes by myself after my divorce, she acted very put out and frustrated the whole time. This year I tried to file my taxes by myself, feeling like I was a little more familiar. I obviously was not, because I got a letter from the IRS requesting more information. I went to see her today, thinking that maybe the last time I got her on a bad day or maybe I was not remembering correctly. Well, I remembered correctly. Again she acted frustrated, even at points putting her head in her hands. I went to her for help, but instead she acted condescending and made me feel stupid. After almost an hour of being made to feel this way, I finally asked for my papers back and left without my problem being resolved. I left her office crying. I believe that, even if you are frustrated with your client, you should still act professional. I read all the positive feedback here, and I wish that I could say the same. I just find it hard to believe that I am the only one that had this experience. She did cut my fee in half, but I may still have to go see another accountant. Hopefully one that is a little more patient and empathetic.
