I have been a member of the Credit Union since 1959, with a break in the 60's when I was transferred to Great Falls, Montana for about 6 months and returning to VAFB. I have very little to praise the Credit Union since the debt that has been on my record was due to the CU allowing a family member to use MY Credit Card and it was maxed out and I have been paying it off every since. When I opted out (and I have no real understanding of what that was for (very little info was given to me). The interest that I've been paying since the change has been extremely high and I've asked to have the "loan" looked at with the possibility of lowing the interest rate and perhaps extending the length of the loan and lowering the monthly payments. The Loan officer (?) at the Lompoc Branch was very harsh and curt and told me that there was no way that could be done! Therefore I've been paying that loan AND in many cases paying the monthly payments on a Auto Loan that I foolishly let a family member take out on my CU account. I paid the final sizable payment not too long ago. I don't have too much more to pay on the other loan and I can't wait for that day to happen and I will quit the CU and it will be good riddance! I would never suggest any one to use the VAFB CU!

{I'm not sure which branch does the "Messages" replies for online banking. This is for them.} Since I live out of state I rely on the "Messages" function of the online banking app. They are always extremely helpful and are always very quick with providing accurate, understandable answers/solutions! They have even offered to complete transactions for me, if that's what I want. I have lived in 5 different states in the last 4 years. With the help of the people who answer the "Messages" line I get the same friendly, efficient service as I used to get standing in front of a teller in person at the local branch.
