Stay away from Church Mutual. Our Church has had a policy with them for years with no claims. In April 2019 we submitted a claim for hail damage to our roof. The inspector who came out, Bob Farkas, only inspected a portion of our roof even after being told we owned the entire building and the entire building was under the same street address. He did approve repairs on the portion he could be bothered to inspect. Our contractor, knowing we needed repairs on our whole roof, submitted a supplemental claim on our behalf almost immediately. We heard nothing. Months went by. Phone calls were made and voicemails left every day with no return calls. I finally emailed the claims department to complain and I recieved a call from Ron Mitchell telling me he would take care of it and we'd get this resolved. We were very hopeful after that but then again there was no follow up. I received one call from a Holly that I missed. For another month both I and my contractor called her, Ron Mitchell, and another man, Quinton who we were told was in charge of the claim and no one returned our calls. My contractor called all three every single day. Holly did finally get in touch and told me I needed to get quotes from other contractors. I told her no, I've chosen my contractor and I do not need to look for others. She decided at that point to send another inspector out to inspect the whole roof. This was in August, four months after all of this started. The inspector came out to inspect our roof for HAIL DAMAGE and was there for three hours going over every little nook and cranny. It has now been three weeks and I called Holly to see what was going on. Surprise of all surprises she actually called me back and said that she recieved the report yesterday and that she forwarded it to management because "you are not covered for anything you're claiming." Our multi-peril policy suddenly doesn't cover hail damage (which is all we were making a claim for). After it was partially approved months ago and a check was as sent for that part, suddenly we are not covered for hail damage. She then told me she couldn't give me any more information until she heard back from management and would be sending a letter. I told her I would wait to hear from her (sure I will) and for her letter and go from there.Church Mutual is the epitome of an insurance company doing everything to not pay your claim. They have operated in bad faith from the start of the supplemental claim and continue to do so. If you are thinking of starting a policy with them I urge you to look elsewhere.
