At one time I rated this hospital a 5 star,It most have been a good day. My experience at this facility has deeply changed as I'm not from here should have listen to others about it. As I don't want to list all the bad experience I had would like to say I will not. My thoughts would be go to a Urgent Care or CarolinaEast in New Bern.

The only area that has any competency is the Maternity ward. I have gone in numerous times for severe low back pain in the past 6 years. Every time I went I would give them the exact symptoms of a herniated disc. They would only run xrays, then tell me it was only low back strain. They would then seemingly write me off as a drug seeker. The one time they gave me a cat scan, I was told there was nothing wrong and that it was yet again low back strain. I went to an orthopedic surgeon (who looked at the same scan) a week later. The first thing he told me was that I had a nasty herniated disc. I have since had a herniated disc repair and a spinal fusion. I was dropped by workmans comp (I have found since then he has continously done it after every visit I have with him) because Dr. Chad Albaugh falsified his dictations of my chart. The nursing staff is no better. They have absolutely no idea what they're doing save only a couple of them. Every time I have to have an IV they blow my viens. Unfortunately no lawyers in the area will take my case, it's like they're afraid of this place. There is clear malpractice going on here and the doctors have seemingly recieved their medical degrees out of a crackerjack box. If it weren't for the maternity ward I'd give this place 0 stars. If you can, go to Carolina East in New Bern.

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Not enough bad adjectives to define how inadequate this facility is! People have been known to die in the ER while waiting for a Dr. I know. My Dad was one of them!Tina Long, in the ER triage is rude, nasty, loud, and very vulgar! She has NO business working with the public! Much less, public that is sick or injured.Mr. C. Lewis, an RN in the ER was assigned to take care of my loved one. He spent his time on the floor flirting with nurses! In fact, the entire ER staff was inadequate! We were there late into the night. Nurses went to sleep in front of their computers and were not available to answer any questions or assist at all!!Do a complete overhaul of the staff!Maybe that will help!

My son fell and hurt his head yesterday and the staff was absolutely amazing here in the er they were prompt and caring and kind and so sweet with my kids . Thank you so much for being so sweet and taking care of my baby . He is doing great .

I was quickly attended, and was given my diagnosis in less than two hours. I'm extremely grateful that I was taken seriously, and not made wait 6+ hours... unlike Carolina East.
