Client Review on Alaska Executive Search, Inc.

Feedback:

Jacqueline with AES called (she has never met & has no idea who i am as a person)me and asked why I had certain details on my resume. I explained that those are skills I have obtained on the job and through education. She asked if I was currently certified (Alaska doesn't require that I be certified for the position I am looking for) I explained that through events in my life, my certification had lapsed and I was wanting to recertify with a national certification agency through work experience and on-the-job learning instead of the having to go back to school and pay $20,000+ and create more debt.Jacqueline asked that I update my resume, remove that previous experience and only focus on the receptionist/customer service experience aspect of my resume. She would then be able to help me and place me in an appropriate portion based on my last position in customer service. Until then, as long as I keep these certain skills on my resume, she said I am not eligible for placement through their company.I explained and agreed that I will update my resume. It will reflect the certifications I received this last week that are needed for position I want. I will not remove the skills that I have acquired in my previous field of choice. I am qualified to to a job whether my certification is updated or not. I feel that this was a wrong thing to suggest, to make it look like I am not qualified and don't deserve employment I am trained to do.
