Unfortunately I have to write a very negative review on behalf of my parents. They had been working with the father for a number of years who had been charging between $200-300 each year for tax filings -including last year. This year is the first year that the daughter, Shermin, has taken over the business (after the father’s retirement), and the daughter (now in charge) provided a bill to my parents for $525 this year, now claiming it’s “more work” (let me remind you its her first year of tax prep) Understandably my mom was quite frustrated but begrudgingly agreed to do the tax filings with Alam Accountancy. However Shermin then indicated she wouldn’t be filing the return and my mom should just drive down and pick up the papers- now at the end of March (which my mom did). Now my mother’s found a more reasonable and professional tax professional that she will be using from now on. I would recommend anyone looking for an affordable, experienced, drama-free accountant to look elsewhere than this business. It really sounds like this business will suffer under the rash management of the new proprietor.
