Client Review on The Employment Specialists

Feedback:

I got called yesterday from the employment specialist approximately at 2:49pm October 18th 2018. They told me they had plenty of work, so if I needed any I could come down to the office to get work . When I arrived at the office around 6am the next day, the only job opportunities they had was either in Richmond doing demo or a half day in Burnaby moving cabinets and kitchenware to buildings, which started at 9. I took the 9am half day shift. When I arrived I was told to come back at 10:30 am. I had no way to contact the people who I was working with because I didn’t have a cellphone. I decided to go contact Mike at the New Westminster office which was a 10 minute bus and Sky train ride, to confirm if I should go back at 10:30 or earlier then that. Mike contacted the person who hired me through the employment specialist and told me to be there at 10. He crossed off the 9 o’clock start time and put 10 which I didn’t think much of, till I figured out that the other employees got paid for being there at 9. At the end of the day I was also given a cheque that was $13 an hour instead of $14, which is quiet strange since everyone else gets paid 14. When I started a few months ago, the employment specialists were also paying me $13 an hour till I asked them if they could match embers, which pays $14.25 an hour and embers also provides you with lunch if needed. Mike told me they couldn’t match the $14.25 because embers was a non profit organization. I recall Mike giving another employee 14.25 since best personnel paid $14 an hour. I’m not really bothered by the pay difference too much since I only work for them once in a while, but if they want there employees to work hard for them perhaps they should pay everyone equally and fairly . Mike told me best they could do was $14 an which was fine with me, at the time since I barely worked for them. I’m not sure why they changed my pay back to 13 and they should pay me for that 1 hour that everyone else got paid for. If your looking for a better paying job that pays daily I’d recommend embers at $14.25 an hour for general labour. if your looking for a temp job that pays $18 an hour for general labour, but pays out weekly id recommend True North labour. If your also a business looking to hire temp employees I’d recommend True North Labour because they pay there workers more and charge about the same as other agencies, which means the employees at true North are more prone to work harder. I wouldn’t recommend hiring temps from employment specialists because the Temps usually feel as though $14 an hour is above there pay grade. Out of every 4 out of 5 job sites that I’ve been to through employment specialists, there were people who were unwilling to work hard because it was above there pay grade. That problem barely occurs with True North since $18 is suffice enough to keep people working hard. And the employees at ember are also treated much better.
