If unemployment wasn't depressing enough, having to deal with this place is a further kick in the teeth. Awful, often patronising, 'work coaches' which are frankly not helpful at all. When work is finally found, contacting them is next to impossible. The number in the back of the 'My Work Plan' booklet is defunct and you have to dial a different number. When you dial the new number, nobody answers. First time I called I was on hold for 30 minutes before I gave up. Second time I called I waited a full 45 minutes and still, nobody answered. Tried emailing my ‘work coach’ 3 times over the course of a week but none of my emails were replied to. Carrier pigeon would have been quicker.I finally found a direct number to the Park Row building. I called and informed them I had found work a week ago and asked how I go about getting my free bus pass (which they trumpet they will give you when you find work). The person I spoke to said you need to go in to collect the bus pass – how on earth are you expected to do this when you are working!? In addition, you cannot even get the free bus pass if your claim has been closed. How completely and utterly pointless.
